My name is Amy Howard, sixth grade Social Studies teacher and I am really glad to welcome you and your child to my classroom this year. I graduated from Trinity University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with middle school endorsements in language arts and social science. I also graduated from Northeastern University with a master’s degree in Special Education. I have taught at Big Hollow School District for 16 years, and am looking forward to another exciting year. It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom. I have high expectations of all my students because I know they will aim for as high as I set the target. This year will be a challenging one for your children, however, I will work to differentiate classroom lessons and assignments, so that each child understands as well as enjoys what we are learning.
My personal mission statement:
To provide a safe and supportive learning environment where all students are accepted for who they are and appreciated for their uniqueness. I hope to instill a lifelong love of learning and will encourage every student to always do their best.
